STEVE - Hi! I’m Steve, a long time believer, but I spent years as an
agnostic, due to the negative influences of high school and university
teachers. While studying Biology and other science courses, I became
convinced that my early Christian training had been disproved by
evolutionists. It created a vacuum in my soul, and I tried to fill it with
habits and interests that soon brought me down. But unbeknownst to me, my
family was praying for me and even claiming my soul in the name of Jesus for
God’s Kingdom! They knew my biggest problem with Christianity was the young
earth belief. So they found books by Dr. Hugh Ross (of Reasons To Believe )
and I discovered there were Christians who believed in an old earth and
universe but they also believed that God created everything (and did not
simply put life into motion with single cell life forms and then sit back
and watch evolution create all the plants and animals). Just as the book of
Genesis says, God was closely involved with His beautiful creation and
showed His satisfaction by repeating after each day’s work that it was good.
I devoured these books and made the decision to go to a church and respond
to the alter call for salvation. But as I got to the door of the little
Pentecostal church, and tried to open it, I heard a very loud voice booming
in my head, saying “Welcome Home!” Well, I was so undone and full of emotion
that I could not open the door! Luckily the man behind me opened it
(probably wondering why I couldn’t) and I was welcomed home by a loving
church and the Lord too. Strangely enough, I began reading some young earth
material and now I favor the view that God did it fast, by making everything
mature, full grown right from the beginning, so male and female of each kind
were ready to be fruitful and multiply. God has spoken into my life so many
times that I know He’s real and that whether God took a long time to create
the world or just a few days , doesn’t matter to me. I’m sure that
everything will be revealed to us in Heaven, and in the meantime, I’m always
learning new things about our amazing Lord. I encourage anyone reading this,
if you are unsure if God loves you, realize that you have drawn away from
God. He is still there, loving you and ready to forgive. He said He would
never leave you nor forsake you.

SUZANNE - Hello, I’m Suzanne and I have many testimonies of healing
and other miracles, but I can only share this one in the space provided. My
praise report is about overcoming a 20 year, 2 pack a day smoking habit. I’d
tried patches, gum, quitting cold turkey, and many other methods, but always
failed. Others sometimes criticized me for my weakness but after failing on
my own, I asked God to take the desire away and the doubters again railed
against me for waiting on the Lord. But one afternoon, while sitting in a
rocking chair reading my Bible, suddenly I felt the Holy Spirit well up
within me and there was a very warm, tingling feeling in my lungs, and a
rush of air came out and I quickly breathed in another very deep breath. I
knew that my lungs had been completely healed from that moment on because I
could never take a deep breath without going into a coughing spasm. The next
few days seemed a bit surreal but very exciting and comforting as I placed
my lungs and my health in God’s hands, believing him for a complete healing.
I wish you could see how amazed my family was, watching me throw away my
last cigarettes and never again smoke one, or even want one. God healed me
instantly and completely and I have remained tobacco free for 7 years.
Two years after this miracle I had to have a chest x-ray following an
injury. My doctor, who knew I’d quit a 20 year smoking habit, was astonished
that my lungs showed no sign of damage from smoking. I never coughed up
stuff from my lungs, and never had the persistent cough many former smokers
have. My story has encouraged other smokers to ask for God’s help in
achieving victory over this dangerous habit and I hope it will encourage you
too, if you are struggling with any addiction. And remember, there are many
helpful resources out there with people who are happy to help you overcome
any addiction, both in your community and also on the internet. If your
addiction is alcohol or drugs, Teen Challenge has set many addicts free and
has a very high success rate, around 80%, last I heard. Please meditate on
this verse, “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!” Also, reflect upon this
word of faith, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Never give up but keep on trying. Christian brothers and sisters, the time
is coming when you will be quitting for good! Carry in your mind a picture
of yourself having enjoyed complete victory over your addiction. This
picture will be one of pride in accomplishment; saving a lot more money,
increasing your life expectancy, and the respect and happiness of friends
and family. Beware of the picture an addicted person concentrates on, of
feeling nothing but withdrawal pain, misery, and frustration when they quit.
Such a picture in your mind will doom your chances; avoid negative thinking
and see yourself a winner! That dream will strengthen you and carry you
along to success. If you do your part, actually PLANNING to overcome, the
Lord will bless your efforts. The Lord is with you and friends and family
are cheering you on! Success is within your reach.
Make Jesus a top priority and your bad habits will lose their power over

RUTH - Greetings from a senior citizen named Ruth who has believed in
God for many years. Watching our Lord Jesus from the vantage point of many
past decades, I’m so happy to see that He is more loved and relevant than
ever! At times we worried that young people would fall by the wayside,
preferring the so-called freedom of doing whatever they wanted to,
encouraged by hedonists in the 60’s. But professors like Timothy Leary ,
publishers such as Hugh Hefner, and other devastating influences never saw

purveyors of drugs, empty loveless sex, and criminal activity, etc. are
manipulative users of gullible victims. A world wide movement of young men
and women are beginning to turn their world up-side -down, just as the first
century saints did! I enjoy all our Christian TV networks, especially God TV
(www.god.tv) because reports of these young believer’s exploits for the Lord
are thrilling. They are hard at work on the end time harvest, and a great
encouragement to the rest of Christ’s church.
Although seniors have the reputation of being afraid of new technology,
watching telecommunications send The Good News around the world is a source
of great joy to us. And also, it is very helpful for single

I cannot remember a time when I did not know
the Lord. My earliest memories include rocking on my mom’s lap, and
listening to hymns, poetry, and songs she translated from her first
language, Finnish. She was an Apostolic Lutheran and my father was a
lapsed Catholic of French and American -Indian heritage. When a local
Baptist couple visited and offered to drive their children back and
forth to church, my parents were happy to accept. (The faithful couple
found a way to minister and be helpful in our farming community, and
they saved many souls in the process!) Christian singles, I was primed
to fall head over heels in love with the Lord at a young age, thanks to
my mother’s witness and her Christian love and patience. She did need
all the patience she could muster raising me, the baby of 6 children,
but I remember giving my heart to Jesus in that little Baptist church,
and later, being baptized there.
When I was an adult the Lord gave me the honor of praying with my Dad
the sinner’s prayer before he died. Even though he was turned off by
religion at an early age (due to a priest who beat the children) he’d
learned in church how to live a highly moral life, and he never drank,
cheated, or abused his wife or children. When he was ill I flew home,
hoping he would recognize me, because his mind had been damaged by a
stroke. For the first five days, he did not know me, nor was he able to
communicate. So I prayed fervently that God would lift the veil of
forgetfulness so that I could pray with him. Finally, on my last day
there, the sun was shining brightly and I hoped it was a sign that he
was lucid. Indeed, it was! He called me by name and I talked about when
he might go home to be with the Lord and my mother. He wept, something I
rarely saw him do, and agreed to pray with me. He knew instinctively
that being a good man, husband and father was not what would bring him
safely to heaven, but that he had to rely upon the power of the blood of
Jesus to pay for his sin, making that awesome trade with Christ; trading
his sins for our Savior’s purity and goodness. I left happy, and sitting
in the plane I felt that I was flying inside the plane, too! I was
higher than a kite, and my spirit was soaring. My dad died soon after,
and the Lord gave me the assurance that my father was Home with my
mother. What a joy to know, Christian singles, that your loved ones will
spend eternity with the Lord and you!
Over the years I have been invited to many churches, including Catholic
churches. There’s something about their liturgy, and the music that
seemed majestic, with ancient roots. I’ve also been to many Pentecostal
churches and even swung from the chandeliers with them! Well, OK, they
didn’t have chandeliers, but I embraced the excitement of worshipping
God with exuberant brothers and sisters. I’ve enjoyed services at a
Lutheran church, a Methodist church, and many others, and presently I am
attending a Charismatic fellowship near my home.
My favorite Christian networks are TBN, Daystar, and The God Channel.
Aren’t you glad that we have so many ways to connect with other
Christian brothers and sisters, and worship along with the unseen church
while listening to the radio, or TV, or the Internet?
